Whether we like it or not, winter is upon us. As it starts to get darker much earlier in the day, it’s important to make sure your dogs always stay visible to maintain their safety as well as your own.
There are many ways to make sure your dog is as visible as possible while on night walks, such as reflective collars and leashes, reflective safety vests, and safety lights. When investing in a reflective leash or collar, it is a good idea to consider neon colors with reflective strips so that it sticks out even without a light being shined directly on it. Some collars and leashes have built in LED lighting so that your pet is constantly visible no matter what. Even better, a lot of them are USB chargeable so that you don’t have to worry about constantly replacing batteries.
If you’re interested in having more reflective lights on your dog’s body than just its leash or collar, a reflective safety vest or reflective backpack harness in a neon color would be much more visible. This is something to definitely keep in mind if your dog has a lot of fur and its collar isn’t always visible.
We always like to recommend safety lights during walks as well, because aside from being seen, it’s just as important to be able to see.
